Dan H.T. Teh

Dan received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto in 1987 and joined Patrick T.Y. Chan Architect shortly thereafter. Ten years later, he became a partner in the firm and subsequently assumed the title of vice president when the company was incorporated as CXT Architects Inc. in 2003. Dan became a LEED® Accredited Professional in 2007.

Dan's strengths as a designer have greatly contributed to the firm's achievements. He is a leader whose integral involvement has propelled the successful completion of many projects, including several award-winning schemes. Dan is an exciting collaborator who has played a key role in joint ventures and who shares his enthusiasm for the practice of architecture with clients, staff, and consultants alike.

Dan carries an appreciation for the classical language and syntax of architecture although his vision is unerringly contemporary. He has a particular sensitivity to the integration of architecture and landscape, with a perceptive ecological insight contributing to the development of all aspects of a project program. His attention to detailing and knowledge of construction serve an instrumental role in seeing projects from schematic design through to the preparation of working drawings and contract administration.

Most recently, Dan acted as the principal collaborator in the completion of an urban design commission for the city of Jiangyin, China. This project incorporates rigorous sustainable design strategies relating to the elements of master planning, site design, built form, public space, and parks. The use of sustainable energy and material resources was considered in each constituent part of the built fabric. Dan was also lead designer for the landmark Administrative Office Building at the nucleus of the new development in Jiangyin that is currently under construction.
