Markham Free Methodist Church

Kaohsiung, Taiwan | 2010

The church master plan was made up of two important parts- a community center and a church. The first phase consisted of interior alteration, within an existing industrial facility, into a community center. A small portion was converted into a chapel. The second phase was to construct a new addition consisting of a 750 seats sanctuary, complete with a mezzanine, and new meeting rooms which were exclusive for church use. This church plan provided for generous indoor public spaces such as new large pre-function lobby, generous corridor and lounge area. Strategic openings were maintained to allow activity to expand into the community center on Sunday.
